Wellness Programs

A lack of physical activity, excess weight, stress and tobacco use can all negatively impact one's health and well-being. Register online for one of JHU's wellness programs and start seeing healthy results today. Programs are offered to benefits eligible employees at discounted rates. Physical Fitness Programs:

  • Cardio Fusion — is offered on the Homewood campus. Cardio Fusion is an aerobic workout combining kickboxing, hi/lo floor aerobics and some boot camp drills. Be prepared to have fun burning calories and strengthening your core.
  • Muscle Toning and Conditioning — is offered on the Homewood campus. Muscle Toning and Conditioning is a workout that focuses on strengthening and conditioning every major muscle group in the body. One should expect cardio intervals to sometimes be intermingled between strength exercises.
  • Zumba — Zumba is offered at Homewood and School of Medicine locations. Zumba is a cardio fitness class that blends the rhythm of Latin music with easy to follow dance steps.
  • Fitness Center Discounts — are available at the Ralph S. O'Connor Recreation Center and the Cooley Center as well as at additional fitness centers throughout the greater Baltimore area. Contact the fitness centers directly for discount information.

Weight Loss Programs:

  • Weight Watchers — is a highly successful program that teaches members how to form smarter eating habits. Lose weight and keep it off through Weight Watchers meetings or online programs. Workplace meetings are offered at Homewood, Jhpiego, CCP-Candler and East Baltimore locations.
  • Innergy — is a convenient and highly personalized approach to lasting weight loss. Work with a coach by phone, eat real food, weigh in at home, be active at your own pace and keep track of your results online. Innergy was developed by Healthways in collaboration with Johns Hopkins Medicine.

Stress Management Programs:

  • Mindfulness Meditation — is offered at Homewood, Eastern, and School of Medicine locations. It is designed to give you the tools to calm the mind and reduce stress.
  • Yoga — is offered at Homewood, Keswick, CCP-Candler and School of Medicine locations. It is an exercise and discipline designed to relax the body and the mind.
  • Seated Massage — is offered at Homewood, Eastern, Mt. Washington, Keswick, White Marsh and East Baltimore locations. Seated Massage reduces stress, relieves tension and improves circulation.

Tobacco Cessation Programs:

  • Tobacco Cessation — Get the support you need to quit using tobacco. Check out several free online programs and additional resources available to you through your medical provider.
